Rural Photo Clubs Project in Pankisi Gorge and Upper Adjara
In 2018-2019 "Rural Photo Clubs Project" covered two regions of Georgia - Pankisi Gorge (villages Omalo and Khalatsani) and Upper Adjara (Ghorjomi Gorge) populated by Muslim communities.
“Rural Photo Clubs Project” was initiated by Georgian photographer Natela Grigalashvili in 2013. Within the framework of the project, Grigalashvili creates groups in the regions and villages of Georgia, in which locals interested in photography come together and study it under the guidance of Natela Grigalashvili.
One of the main goals of the project is to unite and empower community members through the arts through the creative and educational processes that take place within the project. During the project, members of the group will explore photography as an art form - learn about its practical and theoretical aspects. In addition, the project includes a variety of cultural events - master classes, workshops and lectures organized by invited artists and curators, film screenings and exhibitions in various cities.
The Project was implemented with the support of The Reserve Fund of the President of Georgia.
